Help Hurricane Survivors This Giving Tuesday

As the process of rebuilding begins in Texas following Hurricane #Harvey and damage assessment is just beginning in Florida as #Irma winds down, on this “Giving Tuesday” let us find ways to help those devastated by recent storms.

There are many calls for donations to the Red Cross, but on this day after seeing the devastation of St. Ignacious of Loyola in Spring Texas and seeing so many churches becoming shelters to those displaced I’m encouraging that we give to Catholic Charities USA.

“We are the Church, You are the Church. It’s Us together Laity, Priests, Deacons, Bishops, Cardinals, Pope. It’s all of Us together”

- Fr. Norbert Maduzia Pastor St. Ignatius Loyola

Even though there have been many affected by the devastation of these storms the church continues to be of service, opening its doors to many in need.

Your donations to this organization go directly to parishes serving as shelters, people needing assistance or parish buildings damaged like St. Ignatius of Loyola.

You might think FEMA assistance is available, but under FEMA policy officially precludes assistance to “facilities established or primarily used for political, athletic, religious, recreational, vocational, or academic training, conferences, or similar activities” from being considered for relief aid.

We are all busy and if you are reading this and want to help, just grab your phone and text CCUSADISASTER to 71777 or click this link to their website and donate to help this awesome organization.

For those of you who have already donated let us not forget to donate our time in prayer for the many people who are suffering in the midst of the aftermath of these horrific storms. You may see the works of Catholic Charities by following them on their social media pages under the title of Catholic Charities USA.
